I understand your archives have some of my family's papers. Can I get photocopies of their correspondence?

Answer

Yes, with two caveats:

  1. If the original correspondence would be damaged by making a reproduction, or is already damaged, we will not be able to make a reproduction.
  2. If there are any legal restrictions on the collection the correspondence belongs to, we will not be able to reproduce it for you.

You have two options available if you would like a copy of their correspondence:

  • We can make a photocopy and send it to you via U.S. mail.
  • We can scan the correspondence and send it to you via e-mail.

Please be aware that you will be charged a service fee for the reproduction; the cost varies depending on the extent of the correspondence. Photocopies are $0.25 per page; there will be a surcharge for orders over 50 pages. If you would like a scan of the correspondence, please contact us to further discuss arrangements.
