I'm excited to use the materials in the archives, but I'm nervous about handling them. Should I be?

Answer

It's good that you're concerned, but there is no need to be nervous. Materials in the Springy Archives can be precious and valuable, but they are meant to be used, not simply stored away for safe keeping. A few basic practices can help insure that the materials help you with your research and remain available for other scholars and researchers as well.

This video from archivists at the University of Edinburgh offers some excellent tips. Springy Archives staff will also assist you in using our archival materials in the most appropriate mannner.
