How do I place a hold or reserve a title? (Long, needs editing)

Example of an FAQ that needs some editing.

Answer

Is the item you want checked out or across town? Place a hold to get in line for the next available copy and to transfer the item to a library location of your choice.

Hold details

You can have 7 holds at a time on physical items. Learn about other hold limits. Available items typically take 3-5 business days to arrive at a new location. Look here for same-day holds. Once a hold is available, you have 10 calendar days to pick it up or cancel the hold before you are charged a $1.00 fee.

Note: Heights and Riverside branches are not an option while they are closed for renovations.

You can also us the Ask a Librarian phone number: 888-888-8888, Option 1. If the item is available and you want a same-day hold, call the location that has it. See all location phone numbers.

Choose a pickup location and click Confirm Hold

Note: If you don't get the option to choose a location, you have Single-Click Holds enabled. The hold will go to your preferred or "home" library. Learn how to change Single-Click Holds.

When the item is ready, you will get an email or text notification. Follow the link to select a pickup time for your materials. There are two pickup options, walk up and drive up. Choose the option that works best for you. You must schedule a pickup time to collect your items. If you didn't get a notification, please check the status of your hold by logging into My Library Account: Holds. You may need to update your information -  Learn how to confirm or change an email on your account.
