Margaret “Molly” Brown was an American socialite and is most well-known for both her survival of the sinking of the Titanic, but also because she forced the crew of her lifeboat to look for survivors. After the sinking, she used her fame to help fight for women’s and workers’ rights, as well as promoting literacy.
