Springshare Memorial Library would love to have you volunteer! Our volunteers provide valuable assistance on projects that may otherwise go undone due to budgetary constraints. Typical opportunities include support services to staff, special projects, or assisting with the Friends' book sales.

All volunteers are expected to act in accordance with library policies and provide outstanding customer service to all library patrons.

If you'd like to volunteer, fill out our online application form!

Policies:

  • People aged 15 or older may apply to be a volunteer. Those under 18 require a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Volunteers are selected based on qualifications and needs of the library at the time, in addition to commitment to a consistent schedule of hours.
  • Applications will be kept on file for one year. Applicants will be contacted if a project is identified that matches their qualifications and/or interests.
  • All volunteers will be provided with training for their assigned project/task and will always have a staff member they can rely on for help with anything.
  • Volunteers should direct all questions that are not of a directional nature to the library staff.
  • Typically, volunteers work a 2-3 hour time slot each week. Schedules and time commitments will be mutually arranged in advance.
  • Anyone wishing to be a volunteer to meet a community service requirement will be subject to the usual selection process and all other provisions of this policy.
